On December 13 (KST), BTS‘s Jimin broke the internet when he made a deal with ARMYs. In return for helping him pick out what to eat, he would share with them an unreleased photo that he found when looking through his phone’s photo album.
Luckily, ARMYs managed to help Jimin and were not left disappointed after he shared pictures of himself from when he had highlights put in his hair for their American trip… but before they had actually been cut or styled! Straight away, he sent the internet into meltdown with his new look, and fans couldn’t get enough.
It seems as if someone else loved Jimin’s look, and it was fellow member J-Hope. As soon as the images were posted, J-Hope went onto Weverse and replied with the word “H.O.T” and ARMYs loved how supportive he seemed to be of Jimin’s new style.
Yet, fans quickly realized that J-Hope wasn’t saying “H.O.T” in the sense that he was explaining that Jimin was handsome, which is obviously true.
He was actually explaining how Jimin’s hairstyle looked like he belonged in the iconic K-Pop group H.O.T who rose to fame in the late 1990s.
In particular, Jimin seemed to fit in when looking at the photo of him getting his hair cut in the salon, and it’s hard to deny the resemblance.
However, as much as fans loved the comparison, many started sharing their own ideas for resemblance online. One of the big ones that fans couldn’t stop seeing was Steve Aoki.
Steve Aoki is someone that ARMYs are very familiar with, and he even collaborated with BTS on several occasions, including on the tracks “Mic Drop” and “Waste It On Me.” He has also had some adorable interactions with the members over the years!
Others also explained that the whole vibe of the selfie looked like BLACKPINK Lisa’s promotions for her debut track “LALISA.” It is hard not to see the resemblance with the iconic beanie, grey hoodie, and locks.
Although netizens have seen resemblances between all of the artists mentioned, there is no denying that all of them are unique with their dazzling visuals and charisma. Also, Jimin didn’t have long locks for long. His hair was soon styled to the haircut ARMYs loved during his trip to America.
Jimin has once again managed to take over the internet with just a few posts online. Alongside his dazzling visuals, he has also proved that he has a great sense of humor, and so has J-Hope, who found the perfect comparison.
